Installation & Activation

Setting up WPMC Behavior & Heatmap takes only a few minutes.
Follow the steps below to install and activate the plugin on your WordPress site.

2.1 Downloading the Plugin

You can obtain the plugin:

• From your WPMC account (if purchased directly).
• From the WordPress admin panel if it’s listed in the official plugin repository (future version).
• Or by receiving a ZIP file from the developer.

If you already have the ZIP file, you’re ready to proceed.

2.2 Installing the Plugin

1. Log into your WordPress Admin Panel
   Go to: https://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin Use your administrator username and password.
2. Navigate to the Plugin Upload Page
   • In the left menu, click Plugins → Add New.
   • Click the Upload Plugin button at the top.
3. Upload the Plugin ZIP File
   • Click Choose File.
   • Select the wpmc-behavior-and-heatmap.zip file from your computer.
   • Click Install Now.
4. Activate the Plugin
   Once installed, click Activate.
   The WPMC Behavior & Heatmap menu will now appear in your WordPress admin sidebar.

2.3 First-Time Setup Wizard (if enabled)

On first activation, the plugin may guide you through:

• Database creation for storing analytics.
• Basic settings (data retention, tracking preferences).
• Permissions (selecting which user roles can view reports).

Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

2.4 Verifying Installation

To confirm the plugin is active and tracking:

• Open your site in a new browser tab.
• Click or move your mouse around a page.
• Return to the WPMC Behavior & Heatmap → Dashboard in your WordPress admin.
• You should see the first interactions appear in the live statistics.

✅ Tip: If you use a caching plugin or CDN, clear your cache after installing so tracking scripts load correctly for visitors.
