Mobile Heatmap

This tab provides a mobile-specific heatmap for the selected page, showing where users tap or interact on small-screen devices. The layout, controls, and usage are similar to the desktop heatmap but optimized for mobile analysis.

What You See

  1. Top Control Panel (“panel-above-iframe-mobile”)
    • Color selectors for the three click types:
      • Click – regular taps on elements.
      • Navigation – taps leading to page changes or navigation.
      • CTA – key actions such as form submits, orders, or other conversion-related taps.
    • Each click type has:
      • A color swatch picker.
      • A hidden input for storing the selected value.
      • A tooltip explaining its purpose.
    • A Save button to store your mobile color preferences (nonce protected).
  2. Mobile Page Preview in an Iframe
    • Loads the mobile version of the actual page inside a dedicated <iframe>.
    • Click/tap points are drawn over the content in real-time.
    • The iframe is set to full height so you can scroll through the entire mobile page.

How to Use

  1. Open Heatmap and Behavior Details for the desired page.
  2. Switch to the 📱 Mobile Heatmap tab (wpmc-heatmap-container-mobile).
  3. Choose your preferred colors for Click, Navigation, and CTA points in the top panel, then click Save.
  4. Scroll through the iframe to see how mobile visitors interact with the page.
  5. Compare with the desktop heatmap to detect major differences in behavior.

Analysis Tips

  • Thumb Zones: Check if important elements (e.g., buttons, menus) are within easy reach on mobile.
  • CTA Placement: CTAs should be visible without excessive scrolling, but still high enough engagement.
  • Navigation Flow: If navigation clicks are too high on unrelated links, consider simplifying menus or reducing distractions.
  • Tap Accuracy: If clicks cluster near but not on the intended element, spacing or sizing might need adjustment.

Common Questions

  • Why does the mobile heatmap differ from the desktop one?
Mobile users often behave differently—more focus on quick actions, less reading, and more swiping.
  • Why are there no taps recorded?
No mobile clicks were logged in the selected date range, or tracking for this post type is disabled in Settings.
