Quick Start

Quick Start

This quick guide helps you start collecting and viewing click heatmap data in just a few minutes. Follow the steps below to enable the BH Tracker, choose what to track, and view your first heatmap.

Goal: Turn on click tracking, pick the pages you care about, and see real visitor clicks on your site layout.

Step 1 — Enable the BH Tracker

  1. Go to WPMC Behavior & Heatmap → Settings.
  2. Find the section for BH Clicks Tracker.
  3. Switch it ON.
  4. Save your settings.

Once enabled, the BH engine starts recording click events from visitors automatically.

Step 2 — Choose tracked post types

Post types define which content is tracked. Typical examples are Pages, Posts, or custom post types.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Locate Tracked Post Types.
  3. Select the post types you want to track.
  4. Save changes.

Tip

If nothing is selected, tracking may be limited or disabled. Start with Pages enabled to test quickly.

Step 3 — Generate some data

  1. Open your site frontend in a normal browser tab.
  2. Visit a tracked page.
  3. Click buttons, links, or menu items.
  4. Scroll the page a bit.

Even a few test clicks are enough to confirm the system works.

Step 4 — Open BH Heatmap and view clicks

  1. Go to WPMC Behavior & Heatmap → BH Heatmap.
  2. Select a page from the list.
  3. Choose a device mode (desktop/mobile if available).
  4. View the colored click points over the page preview.

No clicks visible?
Make sure:
