WPMC Behavior & Heatmap Overview

WPMC Visual Tracker – Behavior & Heatmap for WP tracks how visitors interact with a WordPress site. It combines classic analytics, such as page views, sessions, time on page, scroll depth, referrers, and device type, with a visual click heatmap engine that records click coordinates, navigation clicks, CTA interactions, and page-level behavior signals.

Recommended workflow: use Statistics to understand trends and traffic quality, then open Heatmap Page List or BH Heatmap to inspect where visitors click on specific pages.

What the plugin tracks

Behavior analytics

  • Page views: page URL, post type, user/session identifiers, referrer, device type, and timestamp.
  • Sessions: session start, last activity, end time, user agent, device, and referrer context.
  • Time on page: duration is updated when the visitor leaves the page.
  • Scroll depth: tracked at 25, 50, 75, and 100 percent thresholds after a view is confirmed.

BH click heatmaps

  • Clicks: viewport coordinates, viewport size, DPR, selector, label hash, and metadata.
  • Navigation clicks: clicks that lead to another URL, stored with the destination URL.
  • CTA clicks: detected from common CTA text, button patterns, form submit classes, and interactive elements.
  • Device buckets: mobile, tablet, desktop-s, desktop-m, and desktop-l for more accurate visual analysis.

Privacy and exclusions

  • The plugin stores aggregated behavior signals and click points. It does not store passwords or form field values.
  • Administrators are skipped by the frontend tracking scripts and by server-side ingest handlers.
  • IP exclusion rules can prevent both classic behavior tracking and BH click tracking from loading or saving data.
  • Bot and prefetch requests are filtered by the classic behavior tracker before view/session data is stored.
